"A child's language is play"
Play has great symbolic value, because children often express things in play that they cannot (yet) describe with words. In Jacob L. Moreno's psychodrama, particularly difficult experiences and feelings are relatively easily produced through child-friendly role-playing and natural play and can then be processed in a new way. Psychodrama is therefore very suitable for dealing with traumatic experiences and other psychological problems among children and adolescents in an age-appropriate way. A particularly empathic encounter, understanding for the childlike experience as well as trust and security are core elements of the psychodrama.
